Judy Irving

Venue: Kells Theatre – Eirgrid Stage

Judy Irving, who lives on the iconic Telegraph Hill in San Francisco with her husband Mark and two parrots named Parker and Big Bird, has been a maker of environmental and nature documentaries for decades.  In addition to her two movies already screened at the festival, The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill and Cold Refuge, she is the maker of the documentary Pelican Dreams (which is, not unexpectedly, about brown pelicans) and Dark Circle, a personal film about the impact of the nuclear industry on residents of Colorado, California, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. Judy will be in conversation with the director of our San Francisco sister festival, Hinterland West, Tony Bucher.
