John Mulvany, from Meath to the Little Bighorn

Venue: The Courthouse - Meath County Council Stage

In 1881, John Mulvany produced the iconic painting 'Custer’s Last Rally', depicting the defeat of the 7th Cavalry at the battle of the Little Big Horn. The artist, John Mulvany from Dyrallagh, Moynalty, also renowned for his painting of the Battle of Aughrim and many others, is hardly known in his native land. This is an opportunity to lift the veil on a wonderful artist and his colourful life.
