There are few writers better placed to speak ill of former US President Richard Nixon, who only managed to avoid impeachment and removal by falling on his sword and resigning before being totally submerged by the ramifications of the Watergate scandal in the 1970s. In 2000 Robbyn Swan co-wrote, with her husband Anthony Summers, The Arrogance of Power, a biography of Nixon, for which Robbyn interviewed, among others, the former President’s psychotherapist.
