In her most recent book Making Empire: Ireland, Imperialism and the Early Modern World Professor Jane Ohlmeyer of Trinity College Dublin examines ‘empire as process’ and Ireland’s role in the creation of the British empire in the two hundred years between the mid-sixteenth to mid-eighteenth centuries, an imperialism in which Ireland played an integral part.
