The first of two film presentations celebrating the career of American filmmaker Judy Irving. Just over twenty years ago San Francisco based nature and eco-documentarian Judy Irving was intrigued by stories that one of the two flocks of wild parrots in the city had acquired its own resident ‘Birdman of Telegraph Hill’. When she went to check out the story she found street musician Mark Bittner, tending to the flock. The result is a fascinating, touching, and humorous documentary, first released in 2003 and now re-released in a digitally enhanced version. Judy Irving will introduce the film.
