Richard Ford

Acknowledged today as one of the finest writers in the English language Richard Ford has won a number of notable awards over an almost fifty-year career in literary fiction. Best known for the four works featuring his fictional creation, Frank Bascombe—starting with The Sportswriter in 1986—he has also produced a peerless collection of short stories, Rock Springs, and in 1996 won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Independence Day.
