Neil is the Derry-born author of a number of non-fiction books, including the authorised biography of David Frost That Was The Life That Was, and the historical work The Story of Ireland which accompanied the BBC TV series. His debut novel, Inch Levels, has just been shortlisted for the prestigious Kerry Group Novel of the Year Award.
