Matt is by now an annual fixture at Hinterland. So much so that in March he became our ‘writer in residence’. Matt, who teaches performance studies at San José State University in California, is best known for the worldwide triumph of his adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner (London West End). Another recent success has been his criticallyacclaimed adaptation of Coleridge’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Off-Broadway). Matt will be returning to familiar pastures when we ask him to join Christy Lefteri and outline his plan for adapting her debut novel The Beekeeper of Aleppo.
